Apostolic Heavenly and Earthly Warfare for the Ukraine!

Yesterday (March 1, 2022) , an apostolic leader asked me what the church should do regarding the war in Ukraine. I told him, and everyone on the international call, that we must do earthly and heavenly warfare!

In heavenly warfare:

• We must gather the intercessors in our church services and hold meetings to pray for the nation of Ukraine and all Christians in the area.

• We should pray for the Russians fighting in Ukraine and leading the war:

  • That the love of God penetrates their minds and hearts.

  • That they be convicted by the Holy Spirit.

  • That they have a dramatic conversion experience!

  • And they Stop fighting!

In earthly warfare, there are several things to do:

• Recognize that it is biblical to bear arms to protect life! Jesus said, “and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one” (Luke 22:36).

• We must contact our state and federal leaders in the Congress and Senate and encourage them to do all they can to help the Ukrainians!

• We must Vote for righteous politicians. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan” (Pro. 29:2).

• And we can peacefully protest in front of the Russian Embassies.

I am glad the people in the Ukraine are taking up arms, including pastors to protect their families, and their nation. This is righteous! Jesus is wants us to protect the innocent. We have a duty to protect the innocent.

Even when the evil is not in our own backyard, we can’t overlook it. We must pray that all who are suffering make it through. And yes we must do more than pray - we must be proactive!

Persecution came suddenly to the Ukrainians! Pray, asked the Holy Spirit to show you what you can do to engage in the earthly and heavenly realm to really make a difference.

The Great Cloud of Witnesses in heaven is watching us and cheering us on to lay down everything that would stop us from doing what we are each called to do For Such a Time as This!

“We also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb.12:1-2).

Fight the good fight of faith and don't give up!

Building together with Him and you,

John P. Kelly
